Domaining
I just purchased an ebook about domaining (affiliate link btw) on the recommendation of TheMadHat. I kind of see domaining as a dark art, something I don’t really know anything about and I’m hoping this book will change that.
I’m not really expecting to flip any domains for $xxxxx any time soon but I figured if I could at least purchase more valuable domains for my web properties I’m planning to build that in itself will be valuable knowledge.
Anyway, I’ll try and give a bit more of an in-depth review of it later when I’ve read some more. So far it seems pretty good though. Don’t get put off by the spammy sales page - you can get two chapters for free so you might as well try it out. It’s always good to attempt and diversify income streams.

It’s an excellent book to get started in. One thing everyone wants is to be able to flip domains immediately for double profit, but that’s not the way it works.
You buy domains that support themselves through traffic, make a little on the side, then sell them later for a sizable profit. It’s a legitimate investment strategy but isn’t a road to overnight riches like everyone wants. Proper planning and being conservative works well in my case. It’s a lot like playing poker…you fold most of the time but when you’re in you’re in.
Thanks for the mention by the way!

Ah well I seem to be quite reasonable at poker, if I may say so myself, so perhaps I’ll be able to convert that into a domaining strategy

I heard a recent talk at Affiliate Summit on domaining that totally opened my eyes to it. I’m yet to see if it pays off as well as they espoused though!

Interesting and useful site.
I still think that there are lots of interesting names avail. still that you don’t have to spend too much time thinking about. However, they are two word-names: i.e spinning cat, or frantic wind (that kind of thing, just made them up). Remember, that two words work quite well, if one of the words is an object that people are going to remember easily, and that the other word compliments it in an interesting way.
I think ..
